Turns out it’s a custom tube frame chassis with a turbo 4cyl mounted mid-engined driving the rear wheels.

You know what? I kind of love it. If the price was like $500-1000, I’d seriously contemplate buying it just because it’s hilarious (but I have nowhere to keep a project car purely for the comedy of it, so I guess I wouldn’t buy it).

I have no clue who would give them $5.5k for it. I don’t think flawless low-mileage examples with zero mods go for more than a grand and most people wouldn’t even touch this thing if they were offered it for free.
